Why Choose Deep Blue Eco Tours for Whale Watching in Oahu
-
We follow responsible wildlife viewing practices that prioritize whale safety and natural behavior.
-
Your group has the boat entirely to yourselves, allowing for a relaxed pace, unobstructed views, and a more personal connection to the experience without sharing space with other guests.
-
Our whale watching tours are led by marine biologists with deep knowledge of humpback whale behavior, migration patterns, and the North Shore marine ecosystem. This adds real insight to every encounter while keeping the experience calm, respectful, and engaging.
On your whale watch trip with us we will take you out to the coastal waters of the North Shore of Oahu and search for a sighting of the magnificent humpback whales that call Hawaii home for the winter months. These gentle giants migrate thousands of miles from the seas of Alaska to mate and give birth!
You will get the in person chance to see one of these whales in the wild from the comfort of our boat.
Throughout the trip, a marine biologist crew member will be sharing interesting and valuable science about the humpback whales and any other marine life spotted.
At all times, we obey all rules and regulations that ensure there is no disturbance or harassment of the whales and any marine mammal that we encounter.
There is no guarantee to see a whale, although we do our best to use our knowledge and experience to find them.

Whale Watching on Oahu During Peak Season
-
Humpback whales migrate to Hawaiian waters during the winter months. This is the best time for whale watching on Oahu, especially along the North Shore.
-
The North Shore offers deeper waters close to shore, wide open views, and fewer boats compared to more crowded areas.
-
Whales are wild animals, so sightings cannot be guaranteed. Tours operate during peak season to maximize chances.
-
All tours depart from Haleiwa Harbor on the North Shore of Oahu.
-
Wear comfortable clothing, a light jacket, sunscreen, and shoes that can get wet.
-
No. Snorkeling or swimming with whales is not allowed. Our tours follow responsible wildlife viewing guidelines to ensure the safety of both guests and whales.
